    Unicorns
    Unicorns:
Live to be about 1,000, though there have been the rare cases of longer life.
Their horns glow, and they sleep only 4 hours per night.
Closely tied to the stars. They need to see them every day, or their magic (healing power) dwindles.
Personality wise, they are peaceful creatures that are always looking to help, but in the past few millennia have taken to hiding because they were being killed off.
Their horns can heal any wound, including lethal doses of silver in weres, iron in fae, or sunshine in vampires; however, these grave wounds must immediately be cured via a unicorn horn, or the unicorn cannot help. When the horn is used to cure minor wounds, the unicorn feels weak, but can still function. If the horn is used to cure a grave wound, then it will drain the strength of the unicorn so much that it will usually fall to the ground, unconscious.
The blood of a unicorn is the exact opposite of their horn. With its metallic sheen, unicorn blood is poison to all living creatures except other unicorns. It is because of their horn and blood that unicorns are scarce creatures. Many want to keep them for the sole purpose of curing those that get injured in their endeavors. But since their blood is poison, the captors of these unicorns will not help the animal when it gets injured. Their blood flows freely and will not stop flowing without being cured by a horn other than their own.
All unicorns are heterosexual. They are a dying species, and thus, all must breed in hopes to save the species.
A unicorn must resume its birth shape at least once every 24 hours, whether it is for 5 minutes, or all day. The birth shape of a unicorn is, in fact, a horse. They are born black with no horn, thus making babies extremely vulnerable, and they slowly shed out their black hair to a pure white and their horns start growing at age 2. Horns come in a variety of sizes, though they all have the traditional twisted pattern to them. If a unicorn loses its horn, it will die. They cannot be re-grown. Their human forms are also a variety of shapes and sizes, though female unicorns take on a female human and males take on the form of a male. Once they have made their first shift (after 2 years old), they must keep the same human form forever. They cannot shift from a blue-eyed blonde to a dark-haired, dark-eyed person.
